Baby, it is Did you! Netflix’s Penn Badgley hit, did you, will return for a fifth and final season, and now we have a detective attributed to the case.
A detective is ready to take him. On July 29, it was announced Baby Reindeer star Nava Mau was cast as detective Marquez. Perhaps his first stop will be at Mooney’s, where he’ll find Madeline Brewer as Bronte, a “free-spirited playwright” and bookstore clerk who makes Joe long for his old self. Other hipsters this season include Natasha Behnam as Dominque, b as Phoenix, and Tom Francis as Clayton. Outside of his job, Joe’s family got a little bigger; gets a pair of in-laws this season: Griffin Matthews plays the “snarky” Teddy Lockwood, and Pete Ploszek plays the “Golden Retriever” Harrison Lockwood. As for his wife Kate’s (Charlotte Ritchie) sisters, Anna Camp will double as Raegan and Maddie Lockwood.
The show returns one last time, but without creator and showrunner Sera Gamble at the helm. She will be replaced by executive producers Michael Foley and Justin W. Lo, although she will continue as EP on the project. “As I step back from The Daily Show to focus on new projects, I am immensely grateful to co-creator and all-around genius Greg Berlanti, Caroline Kepnes, my friends at Berlanti Productions and Alloy Entertainment, and our firm. partners of Warner Bros. and Netflix,” Gamble said in a statement. “I feel fortunate to have worked with such a gifted and thoughtful artist as Penn Badgely. I’m proud of what we’ve all accomplished and I feel privileged to pass the torch. I’m excited to watch and support Did you team as they bring Joe Goldberg’s journey to its deliciously twisted conclusion.” Production for the final season begins in late March.
We have no details on what the fifth season will be yet other than a cast of characters who would feel at home in a coffee shop. Even Netflix’s press release wonders if Goldberg will “finally have his day of judgment.” Anyone still excited about this serial killer better watch out.
